Katrina Pallon is a visual artist whose distinct paintings and drawings are characterized by strong imagery and a rich conceptual vocabulary. Her work employs a variety of mediums, and she has actively exhibited in private galleries and public group exhibitions across Manila, New York, Singapore, and Japan. In addition to her painting practice, she is also an illustrator and muralist. Pallon is recognized in the Philippine art scene for her creative works that celebrate the beauty of Pan-Asian culture. A Magna Cum Laude graduate from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, Pallon earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication. Known for her maximalist approach, her paintings and illustrations showcase an affinity for intricate designs and a commitment to elevating even the simplest subjects with meticulous attention to detail. Her works explore themes of cultural hybridism, weaving together and reimagining folktales from across Asia. These narratives, diverse and multifaceted, are brought to life through Pallon’s vivid and textured compositions. A prominent focus of her art lies in amplifying women's voices and stories, bridging historical and geographical divides. Her female subjects stand unapologetically amidst lush Asian motifs and exquisite floral arrangements, rendered in warm, vibrant tones that celebrate their narratives. Beyond her artistic practice, Pallon has collaborated with both local and international brands. Highlights include commissioned paintings for Netflix Asia Pacific’s employee lounge (2019, 2021), Sun Life Philippines’ 125th-anniversary exhibit (2020), and Starbucks Asia Pacific’s Regional Art Program (2022). She has also worked with Kamiseta on a collaborative fashion collection and contributed designs for Katinko artboxes and Casa Juan Manila's Filipiniana collection. Pallon began her artistic journey early, representing her school in art contests and workshops. Initially aspiring to be a video game designer, her interests shifted while studying Visual Communication at the University of the Philippines. Under the mentorship of sculptor Ferdinand Cacnio during her college internship, she pivoted toward a career in fine arts. After experimenting with watercolor and graphic design, she transitioned to oil painting in 2012 and became a full-time visual artist in 2013. Currently based in Sta. Ana, Manila, Pallon balances her studio work with Muay Thai and pole training. With a decade-long career, her tenth solo exhibit in 2023 marked a milestone in her journey as a professional artist.
